Paper Crafting Blog hop continued Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! May you have a bless ed day and as I have seen mentioned, Thanksgiving is not a day but a lifestyle.  So if you live in the USA and are celebrating Thanksgiving Day or you live in another country that doesn't celebrate; be thankful for everyone and everything.  I'm thankful for creativity and that I can share it with you and it helps me to celebrate Christ's love.  I'm also thankful for my family that I will be spending it with and the ones that are spending it elsewhere.  And the firefighters that are working today so I made them a corn casserole.

Now I'll share the instructions for the Christmas card ornament that I shared with you yesterday.  Here is the picture of the card for reference:

  1. Cut Poppy Parade cardstock in half to get card base of 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and fold to be 5 1/2" x 4 1/4".
  2. Cut Whisper White cardstock to 3" strip and using 2 3/4" stitched square die cut, die cut it.  Then cut a strip out of the rest of the strip to be 2 3/4" x 1".
  3. Cut Shaded Spruce cardstock to 3" x 3" and another to 3" x 1 1/4".

  4. Use wreath template on stamparatus for Whisper White CS stitched square size.  (I sponged the edges of the die cut template in the acrylic sheet so you could see it.)

        5. Place Poinsetta stamp at half way mark at top of white square and pick up with clear plate.    Ink with Poppy Parade ink and stamp.

          6. Rotate White CS to diamond position and ink and stamp poinsetta.
TA

          7. Rotate White CS to next station, ink stamp and stamp.  Repeat all the way around the wreath.
          8. Use Wink of Stella pen to color berries on poinsettas.  Sponge edges of square with Shaded Spruce.  Adhere to 3" Shaded Spruce square.
          9. Stamp sentiment in Poppy Parade on 1" White CS strip. Sponge with Shaded Spruce and adhere to Shaded Spruce CS strip.
         10. Using glue dots, loop ribbon and adhere to back of 3" Shaded Spruce square at top with loop in center and ribbon hanging down the center of the square.  Leaving some ribbon showing, adhere 1 1/4" Shaded Spruce strip and cut off excess at bottom.
         11. Adhere whole ribbon object to front of Poppy Parade card base front.

TADA you've got a Christmas card that can be used as an ornament.

Hope your Thanksgiving is a great one! Please comment and follow my blog and then go eat some dessert and enjoy time with family and friends.

Remember that tomorrow is the first day of Online Extravaganza:

Paper Crafting Blog Hop - Christmas card becomes an ornament forever!

Team_meeting_make_and_take_card_ornament

Image may contain: text that says 'paper crafting Monthly Blog Hop hop with us!'

Welcome to the Paper Crafting monthly blog hop's November hop featuring December holidays.  I am glad you landed here.  If you came here from Sandra Robert's UK hop, I'm sure her post project was great.  First I hale from the wonderful state of Texas in the United States.

I would like to share the inspiration behind my card.   I have always loved poinsettas and I love to share Christ's love through my crafting.  That's why I love the stamp set Illuminated Christmas that has images and sentiments that share that story.  I also love the colors Poppy Parade and Shaded Spruce.  I especially love the Merry Merlot and Copper ribbon.  I also wanted to use the Stamparatus to stamp a wreath of a stamp.  When I planned my first team meeting I needed to plan a make and take and wanted to use these ingredients and techniques.  I thought about having the items on the front be removable as one object so they could be used as an ornament, but then thought why not use the whole card as the ornament and then from year to year the card would be put on the tree of the recipient so they could see your handiwork and read the thoughtful messages you wrote on the inside.  I hope you're intrigued.

Please return to my blog tomorrow to find out how to make this card.  Also, please leave a comment to tell me what you like about my card and this International blog hop.  In the meantime, please hop to the next stop, Sandy Ward, on the blog hop.  I'm sure you're going to enjoy her project too.

And there's more!  For your musical and charity self you can get a wonderful crafting song and your purchase helps fund Autism research!  This is a charity that is important to me.  So please consider making it part of your purchase plan this year.

We are all part of the #sudifferencemaker community! And with our new Making a Difference program, we are creating more opportunities than ever before to do good.
This year, our employee Heart of Stampin’ Up! recipient, Rett Christensen, proposed making our event theme songs available for purchase and donating the proceeds to Autism organizations. Having a son with Autism, Rett understands how important it is to support the community.
So thanks to Rett, you can own a piece of Stampin’ Up! history and make a difference in the lives of those with Autism at the same time!
Dates: November 13–December 31, 2018
Two options:
  1. Complete Collection of Stampin’ Up! Theme Songs
    • $15.00 USD
  2. Single Love, Live & Share It Today – 30-year anniversary song
    • $5.00 USD
Stampin’ Up! will donate 100 percent of the funds raised to the following Autism organizations:
Autism Speaks; Autism Speaks Canada; The National Autistic Society; Autism Europe; Autism New Zealand; Autism Spectrum (ASPECT); Japan Autism Society
There are NOT country specific prices for this offering. During the purchasing process, the amount will be automatically translated into what the current exchange rates are. Please note these are not eligible for commissions.
Fun fact: Rett was also a primary contributor in composing Love, Live & Share It Today (along with a group of other Stampin’ Up! employees).

Have a great Thanksgiving week!
