Happy Birthday Blog Hop - Happy Panda Birthday to my Amazing Husband

Here I am joining another blog hop. I'm excited and hope you will be too. Please enjoy this Happy Birthday Blog Hop where I am joining with fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from all over the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia and Quebec, Canada. If you are already hopping and came here from Sue Boerner's blog hop post, thank you for continuing the blog hop.

This hop features Stampin' Up! products used to celebrate Happy Birthdays. With 233 pages in our annual catalog, plus the Spring Occasions and Sale-A-Bration brochure, we have lots of options to share with you! My hop entry is below so let's get started. And Stampin' Up is such a wonderful company to be a part of and with wonderful quality products to use.

This blog hop was very timely because my husband's birthday is this month. I've always wanted to make a special card for him and this blog hop gave me the inspiration and chance to do that. I've chosen to make a Jacob's Ladder card in his favorite color combination: Real Red and Basic Black with a little silver and of course Whisper White in the mix.

To make this post and hop short, I'm only going to put a few pictures of my project and leave the tutorial part to another post. In that post, I'll also have a video of the Jacob's Ladder in action! Due to family events, I won't be able to do that until Friday at the earliest. To make sure you get to see the tutorial and video, please subscribe by email to my blog with the follow by email link to the right of this post.

Are you ready to see the Jacob's Ladder card? I know you are! Well here it is:

Now that you've enjoyed my post, please check out the wonderful project and post of Susan Murphy by clicking the next blog button here.  If you want to just hop around click on one of the name links below.  But don't forget to leave me some love in a comment.  If you want, you could also leave a birthday msg for my husband.

My 40 day challenge is still going on.  The cards I have sent since the last post are:

The watermelon card was hand delivered on Saturday to a friend who's birthday was Saturday and who's husband owns Rolling Thunder Roadhouse with great food in the town nearby.  It was a card swapped years ago with Bonnie Veatch-Bates from Alaska.

The Balloon card was sent to a friend who I met thru Lago Vista Viking HS Band.  It was her birthday Saturday.  It was a card from a swap with Susan Richard of Plano during 2004-2005.

The Cardinal congratulations card was sent to my newest customer who made a connection with my mom and is now moving.  She will be missed and I hope she'll stay in contact and have fun crafting while she's not here in Texas.

Last week I received some happy mail.  It was a handmade card from someone who had received one of my 40 days of cards.  Here is the lovely card I received:

I love getting mail and lovely mail is even better.

I'm joining another blog hop that will go live on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 8am Central.

Stamp 'n Hop SAB round 2 - You are loved Gift-E-Lope

Hi y'all.  I'm back for the second hop with this wonderfully talented international group of Stampin' Up demonstrators.  My name is Tracey Gouraud and I am a demonstrator in the wonderful state of Texas in the United States.

This month's theme is the second offerings for Sale-a-Bration.  I used 3 of these in this project and they are all free when you place a qualifying order of either $50 or $100 depending on the item.  This special and these items are available until March 31, 2018.

It has been rather cold here for quite a while this winter and I found myself looking forward to spring and the flowers it brings.  My peach tree was showing a few pink flowers, so I knew I wanted to use flowers in my project.  I knew I wanted to use the basket weave texture embossing folder for this month's hop post.  Then I remembered my favorite thing to make when I started stamping: gift-e-lopes.

Let's see if it will work on an envelope and do I stamp before or after I use the texture folder?  Then, I thought about the ribbon and do I punch holes through center at the edge of the envelope or cover the ribbon as it goes across the front?

My first attempt was all stamped images and done in the same color. But the  butterflies got lost.

Then I decided to use markers to ink up the flower vine.  I decided to use Pear Pizzazz on the vine stem and the leaves, I did the flowers in Berry Burst.  Kept the butterflies and sentiment in Melon Mambo.

I also decided to use my Stamparatus.  So I used markers and attached the ribbon first and was able to correctly double ink the part on the ribbon.  To stamp the butterflies in a column, I placed and picked up the bottom one.  Inked it in Melon Mambo and stamped it.  Then I lifted up the lid of the stamparatus and took it off the hinges and moved it up one hinge.  The middle one had to be inked and stamped twice to get the full color on the ribbon.  Then I lifted and moved it up a hinge again and inked and stamped it the third time.

Sent it to the Big Shot and used the Basket Weave texture folder.  I found the best way to do it was to have the gift-e-lope top go through the texture folder and then do the back half.  The flap needed to be cut on the fold to the top of the envelope.  Sometimes at this point, I corner round the inner edge on the flap, but opted not to do that this time.  Then I cut a piece of the gold dotted DSP from the Springtime Foils Specialty DSP to fit the inner left side and cover the left half of the flap.  I stamped the inner sentiment in Melon Mambo on it and adhered it.

Measurements (in inches):
Medium White Envelope: 5 3/4" x 4 3/8" (folded 2 7/8" x 4 3/8")
Whisper White Classic Weave Ribbon: 18"
Springtime Foils Specialty DSP: 2 1/2" x 4"

The only thing left is to decide what to put in the gift pocket on the right, tie the ribbon in a bow and decide who to send it to.  If you would like to earn the basket weave texture folder and the Blossoming Basket stamp set, they come as a bundle and are free for a $100 order.  The Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper can be earned for a $50 order.

Here is the list of the international bloggers who are on this team of Stamp 'n Hop.  Each name (hopefully) will be the link to that person's blog stop.  I hope you liked my blog and will continue hopping to see what other fun projects they have created using items from the second offering of this year's Sale-a-Bration.  Kayla Adams is next and is the 'Blog Hop Mom' for this group.  I know you'll like her blog stop and project.  Don't forget to leave us a virtual hug by leaving comments to let us know what you liked or share our blog hop posts with someone you think will enjoy it as much as you did.  The products I used in my project will be below this list.  If you live in the US and don't have a demo and would like to purchase any of these items, please click on the images which are links to take you to my digital store.  Be sure to use my hostess code for this month: VUKA6CBF
if your order is less than $150 and I'll send you a free gift.

Be sure to visit all the other blogs linked below to see everyone's amazing creations, I know I'll be hopping to each and everyone of them to get great ideas and see wonderful projects!

It's Friday again! I'm still doing the card a day challenge

I've been busy and out of town for a while, but I kept up on the challenge.  Here is the card I 9put together from a card front from years ago swapped from Peggy Battles:

I mailed it to one of my friends who is also a customer and who recently got married.  Would like to offer a challenge to anyone who reads this blog post to use the layout as  a challenge layout (Call it Over the Rainbow layout challenge #1) .  If you do, please post it to share.

Last Saturday, I flew with my husband to visit our youngest son and help him find and purchase a car.  He shared the bulletin board he had designed with the theme of space.  Here is the theme of the bulletin board:

On Sunday, after church and on the way to figure out where to have lunch, we found some ladies selling Girl Scout cookies in Greensburg, PA.  I gave them the next card with a business card and note in it:

This card front was from a swap with Elizabeth Cooper.  This will be Over the Rainbow layout challenge #2.

The next card was given to a couple with a dog that we met at the Bushy Run State park where we went after we discovered that none of the car dealers were open on Sunday.  This was a card received at a team meeting with other local demos and Lisa Rodriguez in particular.

The next day, we set out to let him do some test drives for the few cars we had narrowed down to.  We had received links to a few of the best car choices from the former admissions counselor at my son's University.  I had brought the parts to create a stationary box or 2 and Sunday night I created the following stationary box and card parts for him:

The first picture is the box closed and the second one is the box open with a notepad I received from a swap years ago.  It also had 4 cards and 4 matching envelopes and a few punched out tags with tear n tape ready to be sentiments.  The DSP was retired but the cards and envelopes are from one of the recent card kits.

Monday night we went to the Pittsburg Penguins game.  Before the game started, we were on the screen:

Tuesday night we flew home and I gave a card to one of the flight attendants who was making the evening flight a little less stressful.  She loved it.  Unfortunately, I forgot to get a pic of that card.  I also gave a card to a man beside me at the Pitt airport while waiting for our flight when i was crafting to make the waiting easier.  He said he would take it to his wife so she could enjoy it.

I missed sending or giving a card on Wednesday.  On Thursday, even though we were still having jetlag, I sent the following card to the car sales man who was patient with us and helped us through the intricacies of buying a car in Pennsylvania for our son:

This card was designed and made by Laura Cotton.  Let's make this Over the Rainbow layout challenge #3.

Today, Friday, I sent the following card to a friend who just lost her cat of 15 years:

I hope it helps her while she misses her cat.  Let's call this one Over the Rainbow layout challenge #4.

If you've made it this far, let me know and I'll send you a free gift.

Today at 11am Central my 2nd blog post with the Stamp 'N Hop team will go live.  Check it out and leave me a comment or share it.
